My iPad 3

Well, I have been hinting to a certain someone for a while now what I wanted for my birthday on the 26th December, I was extremely happy to get exactly what I wanted and more...!!! An IPad 3. It completely exceeded my expectations. The features are awesome and in comparable! Hats off to Apple, they did it again. I love my new toy and I can't wait to show it off. Happy New Year everyone.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage and process data rather than a local server or a personal computer. The name comes from the use of a cloud shaped symbol used to represent the complex infrastructure it contains in system diagrams. 

Cloud computing entrusts remote services with a user’s data, software and computation. Consumers access cloud based applications through a Web browser or a light-weight desktop or mobile application while the business software and user’s data are stored on servers at a remote location. Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale similar to a utility, like electricity, over a network.

Nintendo Wii U

I'm definitely not an regular gamer, but I have grown to appreciate Nintendo. They recently introduced a modified version of the Nintendo Wii. This video game console from Nintendo,  is the first Nintendo console to support high-def graphics , finally!!!. 

Upon recognizing the limitations of its predecessor Wii, the Wii U was developed to bring back core gamers. The console also has two versions, Basic and deluxe/premium.  Basic has 8GB of flash storage and premium has 32GB of flash storage. 

The Wii U features a GamePad and an embedded touch screen. You can also look forward to gaming, chat and connections to the Miiverse social network. A front-facing camera that can be used for chat and game personalisation.

Nintendo like Apple, build world class products and are things you definitely appreciate once their placed in your hands. enjoy! 

What is BYOD?

Devices in the work place are increasing in number, and more and more businesses are allowing their employees to bring their mobile devices and have the IT department set it up with email and access to the company IT network. This is known as Bring Your Own Device or BOYD.This trend is being adopted a lot more in emerging markets. 

To some it may seem as disruptive, but with daily advancements in technology and employee enthusiasm for new gadgets, this trend is on the rise, some companies have gone so far as to introduce a BYOD Policy to ensure security. This is definitely important to ensure that employees know their responsibilities, and that rules and guidelines are clear.

4G stands for Forth Generation Technology. In the context of telecommunications 4G represents the forth generation of mobile phone mobile communications standards. Mobile ultra-broadband internet access is provided, such as with USB wireless modems. It is obviously much faster than 3G, offering super fast download speeds.

4G is designed to provide greater data transfer rates and its deemed more secure. With transfers of up to 100 Mbps (Mega bites per second) and 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second). It may also be more accurate give you current updates.

Amazon Kindle Fire boasts of being the World’s most advanced 7- INCH Tablet, but this is not quite true. Even though the Fire HD is quite reasonably priced starting @ $199 for 16 GB and $249 for 32 GB, the tablet has limited file-handling capabilities, saturated with ads and does not support a lot of the app universe. It doesn't even have a To-do-list!!!

Despite the inefficiencies  The Fire does bring food to the table. Compared to the first tablet, there has been a definite boost in functionality and appearance. New software includes Facebook and Twitter. HD Touch screen display, richer colors, great speakers, great Wi-Fi support, and wide selection of books, magazines and audio titles that is free or reasonably priced.

If you want to buy your first tablet, or looking to upgrade, this is a nice device to have. The iPad 2 constitutes a nice performance boost over the original. The dual core A5 processor doubles the speed of the original, and graphical processing unit is a nice touch. Its very sleek and incredibly thin.

The iPad had a problem with downloads across the Internet, and while the iPad 2 3G speed is the same as the original model, the newly upgraded iOS contains a nice little performance boost to the Safari browser.
